Umphrey’s McGee continued their three-night run at New York’s Beacon Theatre last night, and the band highlighted the show with a first set that saw them bust out a Guns N’ Roses cover and welcome a horn section for a couple tunes.

In the middle of a first-set “Utopian Fir,” Umphrey’s dipped into GNR’s “Paradise City” for the first time since October 2004, offering a short, one-verse take on the classic. Next, guitarists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger went acoustic for a couple songs, “Memories of Home” and “You & You Alone,” the latter coming from UM’s new album, it’s not us.

The band then played another album track, “Whistle Kids,” before welcoming a two-person horn section comprised of Snarky Puppy’s Mike Maher on trumpet and former Trey Anastasio Band touring member Peter Apfelbaum on saxophone. The collaboration started out with “Attachments” and rounded out the set with a cover of Sturgill Simpson’s raucous “Call to Arms.”

Set two featured UM live favorites like “Wappy Sprayberry” and “In the Kitchen,” which came halfway through the set and got a reprise to close the frame. The band then closed out the show with an encore of “Hajimemashite” and “Pay the Snucka.”

See the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section. Umphrey’s McGee return to the Beacon stage tonight for the final show of the run.
