Despite a weather-related hiccup on night one, Widespread Panic wrapped up Panic En La Playa on Monday night in style, welcoming special guest Marcus King and dusting off a few covers.

The evening opened with Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London,” a song last performed by the band in September 2016, before playing “One Arm Steve” and an extended “Pleas”>“Christmas Katie”>“Junior” jam. Set one closed with the raucous “Travelin’ Light.”

The band continued the covers coming with Talking Heads’ “Swamp” a tune they hadn’t played live since 4/16/16 at the Wannee Festival. The band then jumped into a nice “Fishwater”>“Surprise Valley”>“Rock” segment.

On the tail end of set two, Marcus King stepped onstage to join forces with Jimmy Herring on gospel-blues number “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” and the Allmans’ “Mountain Jam.”

Widespread Panic closed their seventh destination event with an encore of “Tail Dragger” and an appropriate “High Time We Went.”
