The String Cheese Incident’s Kyle Hollingsworth will release his new solo album, 50 on March 2, the same day the keyboardist celebrates his 50th birthday, and a new album track, “Stuff,” has been premiered over at Pop Matters.

Hollingsworth spoke with Pop Matters about the album, his current professional life, his new beer collaboration with Relix and SweetWater Brewery, and looking back at a landmark birthday. “Thus far, I think it’s been a lot of hard work that brought me here. But being on the road band being passionate about what I’m doing, being able to play music for a living, is what I’m most proud of, right up there with my family, my wife and my children. Being in a space where I can make a solo album and still make a living with my band is a blessing.”

Listen to “Stuff” below. Hollingsworth and his solo band will play a three-night Colorado run to celebrate his birthday and the album’s release starting March 1 in Fort Collins. See his tour schedule here.
