Four-piece indie band Lucius will perform at the Amplifying Women’s Voices Rally at the Utah State Capitol on International Women’s Day (March 8).

The four-piece indie band will take the stage at 12 noon to perform a few acoustic numbers, before playing a sold-out show that night at The State Room in Salt Lake City.

Amplifying Women’s Voices will be presented by local radio station KRCL, who will broadcast the rally live on air. As written on the event’s Facebook Page, organizers intend to “celebrate women: their achievements, their legacies and their capacity to create positive change.”

Recently, Lucius vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig gained even more notoriety when they toured with Roger Waters, putting their own spin on the classic “Great Gig in the Sky” on an almost nightly basis. Waters will also appear on Lucius’ new, acoustic album Nudes, which is due for release March 2.
