After a spring Nor’easter surprised many on the East Coast, the Big Ears festival in Knoxville, Tenn.—scheduled for March 22-25—has been forced to reschedule and even cancel some performances.

Thursday’s Nels Cline’s Lovers with the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra at the Tennessee Theatre has been cancelled. According to festival organizers, it was impossible for certain musicians to arrive in time for the rehearsals and it is also impossible to reschedule the concert for later in the weekend. However, Nels Cline, Yuka C. Honda, and Jenny Scheinman will still be attending the festival and perform all of their other scheduled shows, including Mischief & Mayhem, Kannapolis and Eucademix.

The Thursday night performance of Kid Koala’s Satellite Turntable Orchestra has also been cancelled, but Kid Koala will still perform a DJ set late Thursday evening.

As far as scheduling is concerned, Meshell Ndegeocello’s performance has been moved to 7:30pm at the Tennessee Theatre, followed by Marc Ribot & David Hidalgo, who will perform earlier than originally planned, at 9:00pm.
