Newport Folk Festival continues to add to its 2018 lineup with a A Change is Gonna Come, a performance led by keyboardist and bandleader Jon Batiste and featuring The Dap-Kings.

While not much information has been provided, Batiste and company will play on Sunday, July 29, and will presumably present a collection of protest and/or civil rights-inspired songs, probably with special guests. The event, named after Sam Cooke’s iconic tune, was announced with a collage of protest and pro-voting signs and images.

Newport Folk will return to Fort Adams in Newport, RI, July 27–29 with a lineup featuring Courtney Barnett, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Sturgill Simpson, Gary Clark Jr., Brandi Carlile, Lucius, Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam, Nicole Atkins, Tank and The Bangas, The Lone Bellow and more.
