After announcing that his upcoming solo band tour will be the first Trey Anastasio Trio dates since 1999, Anastasio has revealed that the final night of the tour will be transformed into a benefit in the memory of Chris Cottrell, the late longtime friend of the guitarist.

The event, dubbed “Sustain,” will benefit the WaterWheel Cancer Fund and will take place April 29 at Atlanta’s Terminal West. A realtime pre-sale will begin April 5 at 10am ET and run until 5pm ET here. General ticket sales begin April 6 at noon ET here.

Cottrell passed away earlier this year from adrenal cancer, and Anastasio shared a heartfelt remembrance of his friend, who he met in high school, calling Cottrell a “blood brother.”

“Chris was a deeply caring father, husband and friend,” Anastasio wrote at the time. “And at the same time, Chris was a true badass, as tough as nails on the outside, while Inside he had the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known.”
