Gatos Blancos is a new band featuring banjoist Pappy Biondo and bassist Dylan Skursky of Cabinet as well as guitarist Justin Mazer (Ryan Montbleau live band), keyboardist Al Smith (Brad Parsons live band) and drummer John Kimock of Mike Gordon Band.

The band just released their debut single “Sunset in Stone,” with an accompanying music video. The string-heavy, groove-laden tune was inspired by the beauty of Vermont, and it was recorded live to tape in the very same state.

“I enjoyed recording this to tape,” Kimock says of the spontaneous session. “I think it shows the strong history the five of us have together.”

Gatos Blancos have a few Northeast dates announced opening for Twiddle, and they will make their festival debut this July at Pennsylvania’s Peach Festival.
