Trey Anastasio continued his trio tour with bassist Tony Markellis and drummer Russ Lawton over the weekend with a two-night run at the Chicago Theatre, and on Saturday evening the group managed to dust off a number of tunes, including the TAB debuts of a few Phish tunes.

Among the night’s tour debuts were TAB cuts like “Cayman Review” and “Simple Twist Up Dave,” both of which got the trio treatment for the first time, plus “Last Tube” and “Windora Bug,” which were also part of the original TAB trio tour in 1999.

On the Phish side of things, “Anything But Me,” “Prince Caspian” and “Shade” were all introduced into the TAB catalog with their first full-band renditions on Saturday, while Phish standards “Bathtub Gin” and “Chalk Dust Torture” got their tour debuts as part of Anastasio’s solo acoustic portion of the four-song encore.

See the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section, along with some fan-shot video from Chicago. Next up for TAB Trio is a show at Iron City in Birmingham, AL, tomorrow night before the band heads to New Orleans for a few shows as Jazz Fest kicks off this weekend.
