Umphrey’s McGee Welcome Lettuce Horns, Debut it’s you Track at Summer Camp

Summer Camp Music Festival kept rolling on Friday with the first full day of music from Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL, and Umphrey’s McGee highlighted the day with a two-set headlining affair that featured a sit in from the Lettuce horn section and the debut of a track off their newest album, the surprise release it’s you.

The first set kicked off with a newer tune off it’s you‘s partner album it’s not us, “Maybe Someday,” before older cuts “The Bottom Half” and “All In Time.” “Upward,” a song included on it’s you which has been played by UM for years, was then followed by the live debut of new album track “Triangle Tear” (pronounced tir).

A few songs later, Umphrey’s brought out Lettuce saxophonist Ryan Zoidis and trumpeter Eric “Benny” Bloom for a run of songs including only the second-ever appearance of The Police’s “Canary in a Coalmine” in an UM setlist (debuted this past New Year’s Eve) and wrapping up with “Booth Love.”

Set two featured some Umphrey’s staples like “Ocean Billy,” “Miss Tinkle’s Overture” and “Wappy Sprayberry,” plus a set-closing return to “All in Time,” while the encore featured it’s not us track “Half Delayed” and “Partyin’ Peeps.” See the full setlist below.

UM keyboardist also played with String Cheese Incident keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth solo band for a VIP performance on Friday. The collaboration featured a run of UM’s “Bright Lights, Big City,” which can be seen in the video below. Hollingsworth’s band also welcomed SCI’s Jason Hann and Keller Williams during their Summer Camp set on Thursday, including a funky cover of the Grateful Dead’s “I Know You Rider” with Williams to close out.

Summer Camp continues today with more Umphrey’s McGee, moe., STS9, Guster, Leftover Salmon and more.
