This past weekend at Electric Forest in Rothbury, MI, Kyle Hollingsworth and Joel Cummins, keyboardists for The String Cheese Incident and Umphrey’s McGee, respectively, teamed up for a rare duo show that featured some covers and plenty of improvisation.

Hollingsworth and Cummins’ set kicked off with Herbie Hancock’s “Cantaloupe Island,” moved into “Balloon Boy,” featured an “Arp Jam” and rounded out with a cover of the Talking Heads classic “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody).” See a couple photos from the set above and below.

Cummins will kick off a run of summer shows with UM tomorrow in Buffalo, NY, while Hollingsworth’s SCI just released a new single and will play the second weekend of Electric Forest, which kicks off tomorrow. Both bands also have multi-night runs at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre set for July.
