Before he joins back up with Dead & Company for their return to The Gorge in George, WA, tomorrow night, Bob Weir took some time in his home base of San Rafael, CA, to play a couple solo acoustic tunes and discuss the new Bob Weir “Real Deal” Acoustic Preamp pedal from Pigtronix during a short appearance outside Bananas At Large music store on Wednesday.

As JamBase reports, Weir offered renditions of two of his favorite solo tunes, starting with the bluesy “Loose Lucy,” after the guitarist apologetically “futzed” with his guitar and signature pedal for a couple minutes. After discussing the abilities of the pedal in relation to playing live acoustic guitar, Weir then went into “Only A River,” one of the standout tracks from his solo album Blue Mountain.
