Eaux Claires Music Festival, the yearly boutique gathering in Eau Claire, WI, curated by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner, took place at Foster Farms over the weekend, and the festival’s offerings were highlighted by The National’s own set, which featured a parade of guests and two live debuts from the band.

After kicking off their set with “Sorrow” with special guest Phoebe Bridgers, the band debuted two new tunes, “Quiet Light” and “So Far So Fast,” the latter featuring Josh Kaufman and Mike Lewis. Throughout the show, which featured mostly original cuts, The National welcomed a number of friends who were around for the festival, including Sharon Van Etten, who joined in for “Light Years,” and Julien Baker, who appeared on a separate stage to perform her own “Appointments,” which led into The National’s “Fake Empire” with the band. The show then concluded with an acoustic, unplugged “Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks” with the audience singing along.
