This year, Outside Lands has a new offering when the festival returns to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 10–12. For the first time, the annual music and culture gathering will feature Grass Lands, an activation that promises to focus on the “celebration, education and integration of cannabis products into daily life.”

Partnering with various cannabis-related organizations and presented by Highland Events, Grass Lands will feature different sections dubbed The Confectionary, The Lemonade Stand, The Flower Shop, The Smell Wall and a Farmers Market. Though no cannabis products will be sold, a delivery service will be on hand to schedule home deliveries.

“Outside Lands is always exploring different ways to create a unique and memorable festival experience for attendees, while also celebrating our Northern California community,” says Rick Farman, one of the founders of Superfly, who co-produce Outside Lands. “Much the way that Wine Lands celebrates Napa and Sonoma as the leaders in U.S. wine production, Grass Lands will shine a light on the area’s importance as pioneers in the cannabis world. With recreational marijuana now legal in California, there is so much to discover. We are excited to be the first major festival in the country to offer attendees the chance to learn about the latest in cannabis development.”

Outside Lands returns to San Francisco next month with a lineup featuring The Weeknd, Florence + The Machine, Janet Jackson, Future, Beck, ODESZA, Bon Iver, DJ Snake, Portugal. The Man, Tycho, Father John Misty, Chromeo, Tash Sultana, Broken Social Scene, Chicano Batman, Margo Price and many more. All festival information can be found here.
