Gov’t Mule and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real both headlined the two main stages at FloydFest in Floyd, VA, on Thursday night, and Mule welcomed Nelson to the stage during their earlier set, continuing the collaboration that also took place earlier this week in Lewiston, NY.

Mule’s festival set featured a number of their originals, including cuts from their most recent album Revolution Come, Revolution Go, like opener “Traveling Tune” and the title track. After a run of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Dreams,” the band brought out Nelson to help out on a cover of Neil Young’s “Rocking in the Free World” (Lukas and Promise of the Real have recorded and toured with Young in the past few years), which included an instrumental interpolation of Jimi Hendrix’s “Machine Gun.” The set later rounded out with band staples “Mule” and the latter-day Allman Brothers Band tune (penned by Warren Haynes) “Soulshine.”

See the full setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section. Next up for Gov’t Mule is a slot at Jay, VT’s Jeezum Crow Festival tomorrow night.
