Playing The Forum for the first time since 2016 (and kicking off their first multi-night run at the venue ever), Phish offered their West Coast fans a jam-packed show featuring live favorites both old and new.

Phish opened set one in Inglewood, Calif. with a “Chalk Dust Torture,” followed by newer jam vehicle “Everything’s Right,” which clocked in as one of the longest songs of the entire night.

Later, after a type-2 “Wolfman’s Brother” and a high-energy “How Many People Are You,” the band played “Horn” and a final “Water in the Sky”> “Twenty Years Later”> “Sand” segue to close out the first half.

The segues kept coming in set two, with a singalong of “Blaze On” preceding an unfinished “Down with Disease.” “Simple” was up next, followed by a “Ghost” that crescendoed to elated cheers in the audience.

Things cooled down a bit with “Bouncing Round the Room,” but Phish brought back the energy with a “Mike’s Song”> “Slave the the Traffic Light” to end the set.

The band closed out their California “Mike’s Groove” with a “Sleeping Monkey”> “Weekapaug Groove” encore.

Phish will play The Forum once again on Saturday July 28.
