Mountain Man, a folk trio featuring Sylvan Esso’s Amelia Meath along with Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Molly Sarlé, will release their new album, Magic Ship, on September 21 via Nonesuch Records, marking their first record since their 2010 debut Made the Harbor.

The trio has also shared three tracks from the effort, “Window,” “Rang Tang Ring Toon” and “Stella,” which can be heard below. The new songs are three of the eleven original tunes on the record, along with covers of Ted Lucas’ “Baby Where You Are,” Michael Hurley’s “Blue Mountain” and the traditional “Bright Morning Stars.”

Mountain Man first reunited last summer at Wisconsin’s Eaux Claires Music Festival, then met up at Meath’s Durham, NC studio to start composing the songs that would make up Magic Ship.

“It feels amazing when we sing together, and we wanted to see if that was enough to carry a whole record,” Sarlé says. “Could we just sing these songs and record them and make an album? Once we played these songs for each other, we knew the record was going to be great.”
