This year’s Florida Jam continues to experience schedule changes, as headlining act Dickey Betts Band will now be replaced on the lineup by Gov’t Mule, a move that comes after the festival was rescheduled from May 19 to October 20 due to inclement weather.

Festival organizers Music Jam Productions recently released a statement on their social media pages announcing the lineup change and revealing that Betts and his band cancelled their Florida Jam appearance “without any explanation.”

“We take issue with that decision, especially after he agreed to the new date of October 20 from the prior May 19 rain date,” the statement continues. “Unfortunately this is not the first time Betts has canceled shows in South Florida. We placed trust in him at great expense. However we are more than thrilled to have the very professional, reliable and talented Gov’t Mule come in and take over as the headliner.”

The festival also notes that Florida Jam is currently the only Florida show on Mule’s schedule, and that previously scheduled artists Eric Gales and Elvin Bishop will also be performing at the event, which is set for October 20 at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Palm Beach County, FL.
