This weekend, Huichica Festival will present its East Coast gathering, and the lineup has been expanded to include Garth Hudson, multi-instrumentalist for legendary group The Band.

Hudson will play with wife Sister Maud Hudson, and the duo will also join “Mercury Rev and Friends” earlier in the evening for an improvised live soundtrack for the 1962 film Carnival of Souls, along with Robyn Hitchcock, Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), Mimi Goese (Hugo Largo), John Ashton (Psych Furs), Anthony Thistlewaite (The Waterboys), and Jonathan Donahue and Grasshopper (a.k.a. Huichica East is set for August 24–26 at Chaseholm Farm, south of Hudson, NY. The festival will also include music from Allah-Las, Circles Around the Sun, Betty Lavette, Amen Dunes, Vetiver, Alex Bleeker and the Freaks, Hailu Mergia, Ryley Walker, Martin Courtney, Mail the Horse and more.
