Double albums are always an ambitious move. While most bands of their type would have focused on recording efficient studio reproductions of their live output, Papadosio have created a truly
cohesive two-disc set that covers all sorts of ground from jazz and funk to atmospheric psychedelia and bass-driven EDM. “Cue” shuffles between SoCal-style alternative rock and extended Spanish guitar jams, while “The Bionic Man Meets His Past…” carefully builds toward an explosive and beautiful crescendo. It’s a rare achievement for a jamtronica act—STS9’s Artifact comes to mind—but T.E.T.I.O.S. succeeds as a whole, with grand themes of love, universal consciousness and a better tomorrow permeating through each of the album’s 20 tracks.
