Trey Anastasio Solo Album Due April 30

Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio will release his debut solo album April 30 on Elektra. The CD, which was co-produced by Anastasio and Bryce Goggin, is comprised of material recorded at Trey’s Vermont barn before and after the 2001 summer tour. Anastasios most recent touring band – Tony Markellis (bass), Russ Lawton (drums), Andy Moroz (trombone), Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet), Dave Grippo (saxophone), Russell Remington (saxophone) and Ray Paczkowsi (keyboards) is featured on the album. The record also includes performances by several special guests as well as a 35-piece orchestra. Trey will mount a North American tour beginning in late May.

Uncle Sammy Confirms Winter Tour Itinerary

Uncle Sammy has announced plans for a winter tour. The tour kicks off the second week in March in the Northeast and will route south including multiple shows in Pennsylvania, Washington DC, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. ‘We loved playing in the southern states last year and found out the true meaning of southern hospitality,’ says bassist Brian OConnell. ‘We hope to return the favor this time around with some great shows.’ The band will be touring in support of its latest release, In The Barn, a live album recorded at the 2001 Gathering of the Vibes in Red Hook, NY.

Felix Rentschler Sits in with Moon Boot Lover

Guitarist Felix Rentschler performed with Moon Boot Lover last night at Harpers Ferry in Allston, MA. Rentschler (Shockra, Heavy Metal Horns) joined the group for the second half of the set, which included lengthy versions of New York City and Ali. He also played percussion during an extended drum solo.

Drew Emmitt to Release Solo Record

Leftover Salmons Drew Emmitt will release his debut solo album, Freedom Ride, March 12 on Compass Records. The CD features guest appearances by John Cowan, Ronnie McCoury, Randy Scruggs, Vassar Clement, Stuart Duncan, Sam Bush, Peter Rowan, Reese Wynans, Vince Hermann, and Scott Vestal. More details will be released in the coming weeks.

Special Guests to Perform with Mountain of Venus

Mountain of Venus & Friends will take the stage at Harpers Ferry in Allston, MA this coming Wednesday, January 23. Special guests will include guitarist Gary Backstrom (Jiggle), guitarist John Trama (Knockout, Rockett Band), guitarist Gabe Johnson (Soulwork), guitarist Putnam Murdock (Chief Broom), drummer Mike Zecco (Another Planet), bassist Gary Wicks (Rockett Band), keyboardist Paul Wolstencroft (Jiggle, Knockout) and percussionist Brendan Tommaney (Rockett Band).
