A Decade of All Good Music

Walther Productions will host its 10th annual All Good Festival in July. The popular mid-Atlantic summit will take place from July 13-16, featuring 3 days of All Good music and camping, plus drum circles crafts, microbrews, foods and a kids activity tent. Traditionally held in the spring, All Good repositioned itself as a summer gathering in 2004 and has since drawn an eclectic lineup including the Flaming Lips, Stockholm Syndrome, Matisyahu, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Dark Star Orchestra and, last year, the entire BIG Summer Classic touring package.

Sirius Phishing

On Super Bowl Sunday, Sirius 17, Jam_On, will host a competition of its own—-The Phish Bowl. Phish experts, and Sirius DJs, Jonathan Schwartz and Adam Foley will debate their favorite Phish shows while Pharmers Almanac author Andy Bernstein serves as referee. To support their arguments, Schwartz and Foley will each play four songs from their chosen Phish concerts, December 31, 1995 and August 17, 1997, respectively. The games begin at 7 PM EST, with heady debate likely to stretch late into the evening. Camp Bisco Yearbook

After two years of hibernation, the Disco Biscuits appear to be back in full force . While preparing to release its fifth live album and to begin work on its next studio album, the Philadelphia-bred quartet has also readied its next DVD. Camp Bisco IV: The Trance-Formation will document the Disco Biscuits’ final performances with original drummer Sam Altman, who is currently preparing for a career in medicine. A two-disc set, the limited edition film will feature a feature combination of live performances and interview footage, as well as 2 hours of the best uncut live music from the two-day festival.

The Disco Biscuits will open for moe. at Chicagos Aragon Ballroom Friday, before heading to Denver, COs Fillmore Auditorium for a headlining performance a night later.

Mike Gordon to Perform with Ramble Dove at Bonnaroo

Mike Gordon will perform with a new collective, Ramble Dove, at the fifth annual Bonnaroo festival this summer. According to Gordons management, the new project will feature a number of Vermont musicians, paying homage to classic Nashville honky-tonk. Gordon, a longtime admirer of bluegrass and honky-tonk, is largely responsible for bringing songs like Ginseng Sullivan and Uncle Pen into Phishs repertoire.

As reported on Relix.com , Gordon joins an eclectic list of musicians at Bonnaroo this June, including Radiohead, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Phil Lesh and Beck. While Bonnaroo will add a number of artists to its lineup in the coming weeks, as of now many of the artists who have performed every Bonnaroo, including Galactic, Warren Haynes, Bob Weir and the members of Widespread Panic, are currently absent from the festivals lineup. Among the notable acts returning to Manchester, TN are moe., Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Soulive, Mike Doughty, Dr. John, Matisyahu, G. Love & Special Sauce, Jerry Douglas, My Morning Jacket, Ricky Skaggs, Medeski Martin & Wood, Nickel Creek and Gomez. On pace to rival its counterparts in Redding and Glastonbury, Bonnaroo has also expanded its roster to include artists from all corners of the musical universe including Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Folds, Blues Traveler, Amadou & Mariam, Bill Frisell, and Damian Marley. For those keeping score at home, a few veterans of the inaugural Bonnaroo will also be on-hand including Lesh, moe., Soulive, Robert Randolph, and Bela Fleck, who performed a sun shower set alongside Edgar Meyer.

Tishamingo’s WhiSki Trip

Tonight, Tishamingo will kickoff its 2006 Hillbilly WhiSki Trip at Breckenridge, COs Sherpa & Yeti’s. From there, the former New Groove of the Month will swing through a number of snowy mountain locations including Steamboat Springs, Winterpark, Denver, Keystone, Vail, Aspen and Telluride, CO. On February 6, Tishamingo will make a live appearance on Ft. Collins, COs KRFC 88.9 during its Live at Lunch program. After returning to the southeast, the group will also make an appearance at Athens, GAs 40-Watt on February 18.
