Billy and Jilian Nershi are Honkytonk Homeslice

String Cheese Incident’s Billy Nershi has announced a “few performances with his wife Jilian. Honkytonk Homeslice will feature the pair on vocals and acoustic instruments with three California shows currently confirmed. They will appear on September 24 at the Bean Scene in Chico, on September 30 at the Connecticut Yankee in San Francisco (contrary to earlier reports that the show would take place in Dan Francisco) and on October 1 at the Peach and Frog in San Luis Obispo.

2002 Jammys on Trio

On September 20, the Trio network will air a look back at the 2002 Jammys. The show, airing at 1PM eastern time will present musical moments from the October 2, 2002 event at Roseland Ballroom. Meanwhile individuals who wish to cast their eyes and ears back at the 2004 Jammys, from this past March 16 at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden should stay tuned for an announcement here at the site.

Vince Herman To Perform in Nederland This Evening; Spirit of Guthrie Tour Begins In October

Leftover Salmon frontman Vince Herman is at Whistlers Cafe in Nederland, CO tonight for the first of what his web site indicates will eventually become ‘a weekly Tuesday night musical adventure.’ From here he will travel to the east coast for a few shows including a gig this Friday at moe.down. Then, beginning on October 7, Herman will hit the road “through October 24 on the Spirit of Guthrie Tour. Here he will be joined by Jim Page and Rob Wasserman presenting music and social commentary that honors the legacy of Woody Guthrie (with any luck Herman will perform his composition ‘Woody Guthrie’ as well).
