Several fans at Philadelphias Penns Landing were puzzled Saturday when Warren Haynes did not show up for his gig with the Allman Brothers Band. While speculation has circulated on the internet, the truth is far less exciting. He just wasn’t feeling well and needed a night off, says a member of Haynes Hard Head management company. Indeed, even ‘the hardest working man in biz’ is allowed a sick day. Longtime ABB-associate Ron Holloway rose to the occasion joining the Brothers on saxophone for its entire set. One highlgiht was Oteil Burbridge’s lead vocal take on the Grateful Deads Franklins Tower.’ Haynes returned a day later at the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center.
