Gov’t Mule paid tribute to the life of Jerry Garcia on what would’ve been his 75th birthday during last night’s stop in Augusta, GA as they welcomed members of Galactic throughout the show, including an opening stanza with Stanton Moore where the drummer joined them on “Dark Star” and “Morning Dew.”

Mule then reprised “Dark Star” later on in the show with Moore joining them once again for that as well as a “Drums” jam. Elman then emerged for the set-closing “Blind Man in the Dark.”

The show closed not with a Dead/Garcia song but a popular cover in the Jerry Garcia Band repertoire as Mule once again brought out Moore for the encore of the Beatles’ “Dear Prudence.” Garcia predominately covered the song throughout the 80s.

Next up for Mule is another show with Galactic tomorrow night in Raleigh, NC.
