John Mayer played a last-minute acoustic show at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles where he collaborated with a number of musicians throughout the night including his own bandmate David Ryan Harris as well as singer Shawn Mendes and Chance the Rapper.

The set started with Mayer rolling through songs like “Who Says,” “Stop this Train” and “Daughters” as well as the Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” and his own “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” before bringing out Harris for an acoustic rendition of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin,” a song that Mayer has covered numerous times and a nod to the late musician.

Mendes then emerged for his pop hit “Treat You Better” before Chance the Rapper made a surprise appearance to cover his own “First World Problems.”

While cameras and phones weren’t allowed into these shows, much like recent intimate acoustic shows with Dave Chappelle, video is unlikely to surface.
