Umphrey’s McGee will bring their yearly Halloween shows to the Palace Theater in St. Paul, MN, this weekend, and the band has announced both a traditional webcast and more experimental social virtual reality stream for both shows.

Webcast hosts TourGigs is teaming up with social music VR platform Endless Riff, which allows fans to view concerts and engage with other fans via VR avatars on the Oculus Rift. This weekend’s shows will take place in Endless Riff’s “Endless Ballroom” virtual venue and will feature Halloween-themed avatars, including one based on UM’s to-be-announced costume theme.

Umphrey’s McGee’s Halloween run is set for October 27 and 28. Fans can watch the shows for free via the Endless Riff app with an Oculus Rift headset, and regular live-streams are available for purchase via TourGigs. More information can be found here.
