Legendary New Orleans musician and pianist Fats Domino passed away at the age of 89, NOLA.com reported.

Domino’s passing was confirmed by his daughter, who said he died peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Domino’s extensive musical career spanned numerous decades as he made his name with hits like “Blueberry Hill,” “Ain’t That a Shame” and many others. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys in 1987.
