Guster have returned to the studio to work on their eighth studio album. The group are currently recording in Calgary with producer Leo Abrahams. The London-bred musician has worked with Brian Eno, Jarvis Cocker, Carl Barât, Jon Hopkins and Paul Simon, as well as director Peter Jackson.

In a post on Instagram, the member of Guster received:

At the helm for the Calgary studio session is Leo Abrahams of London England. You’re probably not super inclined to “like” a photo of a random stranger but you should do it. Do it because we’re quite enamoured with him. Do it because he listened to hand clap samples at the breakfast table this morning. Do it because of the way he says “prawn” or for fucksake just like it for his piercing blue eyes.

Guster’s last studio album, 2015’s Evermotion, was produced by The Shins and The Arcs keyboardist Richard Swift. The indie-jam-pop will kick off a long weekend of shows, where they will debut some new songs, in Rochester, NY on January 11. The members of Guster have also been in the news recently thanks to drummer Brian Rosenworcel’s sister Jessica, the FCC commissioner who advocated against the Net Neutrality repeal.
