Both bluegrass and jam-prog fans got a special holiday gift on Wednesday, when Jeff Austin and Brendan Bayliss reunited as 30db. As first reported by JamBase, this was the third year in a row where the two musicians have come together in Chicago, playing both covers and original tunes from their 2010 album One Man Show.

Austin wielded his trusty mandolin and Bayliss stayed on acoustic guitar as the duo played two casual, loose sets that included “We’re Going To Be Friends” by The White Stripes and “Little Martha” by The Allman Brothers. Austin even dipped a toe into the Umphrey’s world when they played the UM live staple “Cut The Cable.”
