Phil Lesh celebrated the new year in some warmer climes, playing a show at the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu, HI, last night alongside his frequent collaborators in The Terrapin Family Band.

The collective, which also featured Ross James, Grahame Lesh, Alex Koford and Jason Crosby, ran through three full sets of music featured many Grateful Dead staples, classic covers and more. Set one kicked the evening off with the Dead’s “Jack Straw” and “Sugaree,” along with The Rolling Stones’ “Tumbling Dice,” Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane,” The Band’s “The Shape I’m In” and an original tune from James.

Set two kept the Dead favorites coming with “Help on the Way,” “Box of Rain,” “Casey Jones,” “Wharf Rat,” “Truckin’” and “New Speedway Boogie, along with a cover of Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.” The group then closed out the night with a third set featuring “Shakedown Street,” “Cumberland Blues,” “Viola Lee Blues,” “Bertha,” “Sugar Magnolia” and “Sunshine Daydream.”
