This March, Melvin Seals & JGB will bring their continuing celebration of the music of Jerry Garcia Band with a special show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, honoring the 40th anniversary of Cats Under the Stars, the 1978 album that marked the first to be released under the collective title of The Jerry Garcia Band.

Dubbed “Cap Under the Stars,” the concert will feature Seals and company presenting one set of the original Cats album and a second set that will incorporate the additional tracks that were included in the All Things Good: Jerry Garcia Studio Sessions reissue of the record: “Magnificent Sanctuary Band,” “I’ll Be With Thee,” “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” “Mighty High” and “Don’t Let Go.”

Garcia himself called Cats, which featured contributions from his Grateful Dead bandmates Keith and Donna Godchaux, the “record I worked hardest at and liked best” and “kind of like my baby.”

The Cap show will take place March 2. More information can be found here.
