The Infamous Stringdusters have launched their brand new record label, Tape Time Records, and the band has announced the label’s first endeavor, a new album from fellow bluegrass purveyors Horseshoes & Hand Grenades.

HHG will release their new album, The Ode, on February 16 via Tape Time and Amplified. The record’s first single, “Steer True,” will be available next Friday, February 2.

“It’s a natural progression for us,” Stringdusters fiddler Jeremy Garrett says. “We’ve been with different labels and had an array of experiences, and just thought that a record company by and for musicians is the way to go. We want to put out the best music possible – of ours and our friends – and do it with full control over all aspects.”

The Infamous Stringdusters and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades will play tonight at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club and tomorrow at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer before a Midwest run starting February 7 in Louisville, KY. The Stringdusters are also up for Best Bluegrass Album at this weekend’s 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
