ALO wrapped up their annual Tour d’Amour this past weekend, closing out a West Coast run that began late last month and featured a number of guests, including members of Tea Leaf Green, and special covers throughout.

The band played a weekend in the Pacific Northwest earlier this month that featured Elton John-themed shows, starting with a Portland gig that included a cover of “Benny and the Jets.” In Seattle, the Monophonics horns joined ALO for “Undertow” and the band covered “Tiny Dancer” and Al Green’s “Love and Happiness.” The Northwest run rounded out with another night in Seattle featuring John’s “Crocodile Rock.”

Tour d’Amour then moved to ALO’s home state of California, starting in the north with a Paul Simon-themed weekend that featured covers of “Boy in the Bubble,” “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” Loves Me Like a Rock” and “Graceland.” ALO also welcomed John Craigie for four nights in a row—including on a cover of The Band’s “Shape I’m In” in Grass Valley, Stealers Wheel’s “Stuck in the Middle with You” in Sebastopol and Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” in Chico—along mandolinist Kyle Ledson in Grass Valley.

Craigie returned to the stage with the band this past Friday in Sacramento, which kicked off the tour’s final weekend with a Blondie-themed show that included a cover of “Heart of Glass.” Tea Leaf Green members Trevor Garrod and Josh Clark joined ALO the following night at Nevada’s Crystal Bay Casino for “Not Old Yet,” while their TLG bandmate Scott Rager and guitarist Sean Leahy added to the collaboration on TLG’s “Freedom.”
