My Morning Jacket kicked off their One Big Holiday destination event in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic last night, marking the band’s first show of 2018, a year which they have previously said will not include any U.S. tour dates, and the band gave fans a big surprise, playing their first two studio albums in full.

The first set saw MMJ run through Tennessee Fire, their debut album from 1999 that featured the band’s original quartet lineup (only frontman Jim James and bassist Tom Blankenship remain today). Most of the album’s songs are not in MMJ’s setlist rotation these days.

Set two continued with 2001’s At Dawn, which features more recently played tunes like the title track, “Lowdown,” “The Way The He Sings” and “Phone Went West,” which closed out the show last night.

See the full setlists below. My Morning Jacket return to the stage tonight for their second of three shows at One Big Holiday, which today will also feature music from Spoon and Toots & The Maytals.
