Trey Anastasio has announced that his solo band will be touring as a trio for the first time since 1999 for their upcoming spring dates next month. The news comes after it was revealed that band keyboardist Ray Paczkowski had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and undergone successful surgery as a result.

A statement announcing the Trey Anastasio Trio dates notes that April 17—the date that TAB are set to kick off their spring tour in Cleveland, OH—will mark the 20 year anniversary of the first time Anastasio, bassist Tony Markellis and drummer Russ Lawton shared the stage to form the original TAB touring trio lineup.

“While Ray rests up, we have decided to use this upcoming short tour to celebrate this milestone and play the entire run as a trio for the first time since 1999,” the statement reads. “We will keep Ray in our hearts and minds as he recovers over the next few months and look forward to the full TAB lineup returning to the road soon.”
