Mike Gordon wrapped up his solo band tour with the second of two nights at Higher Ground in Burlington, VT, on Thursday night, and the show featured a special sit in from Gordon’s lone Burlington-based Phish bandmate, keyboardist Page McConnell.

The night also included some guest spots form local pedal steel player Brett Lanier, who Gordon described as “one of my favorite Burlington musicians of all time.” Lanier joined Gordon and company for a cover of The Flaming Lips’ “Are You A Hypnotist” before McConnell and Lanier added to Gordon’s “Marissa,” which led into another OGOGO track, “Crazy Sometimes.”

After Lanier exited the stage, McConnell stayed on for a cover of Jon Cleary’s “Got To Be More Careful” and the early Phish number “Destiny Unbound,” which Gordon’s band debuted earlier this year. The show would later round out with an encore performance of Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.”
