Lotus played the second of two nights at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer on Saturday April 14, jamming heavily between originals and even covering New Wave trailblazers Depeche Mode.

The band opened the show with a hefty “Spiritualize”> “Soma” jam, but the real highlight came at the end of the first half when Lotus welcomed vocalist Ari “Dick” Rubin and guitarist Barney Cortez of opening act MINKA for the aforementioned Depeche Mode tune, “Policy of Truth.”

The show stayed strong in the second set, with Lotus digging into a lengthy “Lead Pipe”> “In The Bills”> “Expired Slang” segment. They closed the show with the always-fun ’70s funk classic “Strawberry Letter 23,” and their own “Hammerstrike.”
