Jay Lane, of Primus, Ratdog and Golden Gate Wingmen, will join Vermont-based jamband RAQ for two shows on May 18 and 19 in Denver.

The new collective is dubbed RAQ+ (“RAQ plus”), and gives the band an opportunity to perform with a new percussion section while usual drummer Scotty Zwang tours with Ghost Light.

“I am extremely excited to welcome my brother Jay Lane into the RAQ family!” keyboardist Todd Stoops said in an official statement. Lane and Stoops had previously performed together from 2016-2017 in Reed Mathis & Electric Beethoven. “Lane is part man, part machine, and has an extremely high mitochondria count,” Stoops added.

The band also notes that in addition to the May RAQ+ dates at Be On Key Psychedelic Ripple in Denver, a “Northeast run in the band’s home region is also in the works.”
