Ray Davies will release his next studio album, Our Country on June 29 through Legacy. The album has been described as a continuation of “The Kinks co-founder’s journeys through America, as depicted in his 2013 memoir Americana and last year’s album of the same name. His reflections on his experiences in America instigate personal reformation, and eventually rediscovery and celebration of his own origins.”

The Kinks frontman recorded Our Country at London’s
Konk Studios with guitarist Bill Shanley and The Jayhawks serving as his backing band. A number of UK musicians also participated in the sessions. In addition to some new compositions, the album will feature some reworked songs from Davis’ past, including “Oklahoma USA” (first heard on The Kinks’ Muswell Hillbillies), “The Real World” (from the 2007 solo album, Working Man’s Cafe) and “The Getaway” (from 2006’s Other People’s Lives).

Davis served as the album’s producer and arranger and the set was was co-produced by Guy Massey and John Jackson. All songs by Ray Davies. America was Davis’ first solo work in a decade.
