Waterloo Music Festival, a new event organized by a group of Austin, TX promoters and focused on jam music, will come to Carson Creek Ranch this September, with its newly announced inaugural lineup featuring The String Cheese Incident, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and more.

Besides three nights of String Cheese and Almost Dead’s first-ever Texas show, the initial festival lineup also features The Motet, Railroad Earth, TAUK, BoomBox and Marco Benevento. The full list of artists is expected in the coming weeks.

“With Waterloo, we set out to honor and celebrate the heritage and spirit of Austin with world-class music inspired by our roots and a weekend-long outdoor experience that will make our city proud,” says Waterloo co-founder Briggs Mitchell. “We couldn’t think of a better place to call home than on the banks of the Colorado River, and to us, nothing brings together the creativity and soul of Austin more than three nights of The String Cheese Incident accompanied by an eclectic mix of artists across the jam music spectrum. We believe Austin deserves this festival and we are honored to host what we believe will become a legendary celebration for years to come.”

Waterloo—whose name refers to the initial title for the city of Austin and is organized by Heard Presents, Havin’ A Ball Productions, and Unknown Entertainment—is set for September 7–9 at Carson Creek Ranch outside Austin. Tickets for the festival go on sale this Friday, May 11, with an initial limited pre-sale of discounted packages. All information can be found at the festival’s website.
