Banjo master Béla Fleck will host his inaugural Blue Ridge Banjo Camp this August in Brevard, NC, where the Flecktones leader will join with several other banjo veterans to teach some of the intricacies of the instrument.

Joining Fleck will be his former teacher Tony Trischka, Mike Munford, Kristin Scott Benson and Steve Cooley. The camp is available for all levels of players, with lessons geared toward different experience levels, plus concerts, jam sessions, listening sessions and more.

“The big idea,” Fleck says, “is that we all leave super-charged about how much we love the banjo and how much is possible with it, better musicians and with a lot of fellowship around this incredible instrument.

Fleck and wife/musical collaborator Abigail Washburn also recently released a video via Reverb that has both banjoists teaching a lesson on the differences between clawhammer and three-finger style banjo playing. Watch below, and read our recent interview with Fleck and Washburn here.
