At next month’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN, Chic co-founder Nile Rodgers will be honored with the third annual Les Paul Spirit Award for Innovation and Achievements, presented by The Les Paul Foundation.

Rodgers will receive the award on June 9, which also marks what would have been the 103rd birthday of legendary guitarist Les Paul. According to a release, the honor goes to a musician “who exemplifies the spirit of the late, great Les Paul through innovation, engineering, technology and/or music.” A grant from the Foundation and the Bonnaroo Works Fund will also be given to a charity of Rodgers’ choice in his name.

Rodgers, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, joins Bob Weir and U2 guitarist The Edge as recipients of the annual Les Paul Spirit Award.
