Dave Matthews Band opened up their 2018 touring schedule in Texas last night with a show at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands. The show, which came after former DMB violinist Boyd Tinsley was accused of sexual misconduct toward a protege earlier this week, marked the debut for new DMB keyboardist Buddy Strong, who announced earlier this year he will be joining the band for the full tour. The night also featured two songs from the group’s upcoming album Come Tomorrow and a few tunes that hadn’t been in the DMB rotation for several years.

Matthews and company kicked off the evening with the title track from the new album, playing the song live for the first time. The lyrics speak a bit to the current social climate in the country, with Matthews offering, “As far as I can see/ We should let the children lead.”

After the opener, the group launched into the first “Louisiana Bayou” since July 2015, just one of last night’s bustouts. Along with DMB favorites like “What Would You Say,” “#41,” “Satellite,” “Rapunzel” and “Crush,” plus the staple “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin),” which also appears on Come Tomorrow, the band dusted off “#27” for the first time since July 2014, “What You Are” for the first time since May 2013 and “Stand Up (For It)” for the first time since October 2007, a span of 796 shows.

Matthews also led his bandmates through the first full-band rendition of “Do You Remember,” the third and final new album track played last night. The night would later end with a two-song encore of “You & Me” and “Grey Street.”

See the full setlist below as it appears in out Box Scores section, along with fan-shot video of the two new album tracks and a recording of the full show. Dave Matthews Band continue their tour tonight with a show at Dallas, TX’s Dos Equis Pavilion.
