Dead & Company’s summer tour, which kicks off tonight at Mansfield, MA’s Xfinity Center, will feature tour partners HeadCount, who will travel with the band while registering voters at each stop and presenting their Participation Row village of nonprofit entities. Today, HeadCount has announced the addition of March For Our Lives, the movement and organization started by high-school students who survived the mass shooting in Parkland, FL, to Participation Row.

The connection between Dead & Company and the March For Our Lives movement began when members of the band met with Parkland students at their show in Florida, with Bob Weir telling the students, “You guys could save our democracy.”

“We know Bobby and the whole band were really moved by the Parkland kids,” HeadCount executive director Andy Bernstein says. “And working with these kids to organize voter registration drives has been an amazing experience for HeadCount. Bringing them on Dead & Co. tour seemed like a perfect way to tie this all together.”

HeadCount organized voter registrations at the country-wide March For Our Lives events on March 24, and at Dead & Co.‘s summer shows, fans will be able to meet alumni of Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where the shooting took place and take photos with messages about voting. Fans who take actions with at least three of the nonprofits at Participation Row will be entered to win a signed D’Angelico guitar.
