Amy Helm has a new record on the way, and the title track “This Too Shall Light” is a collaboration with indie-darlings Hiss Golden Messenger.

Written at Levon Helm Studios alongside MC Taylor and Josh Kaufman, the track was later recorded on the West Coast at LA’s United Recording Studios.

“We just kind of set up, threw our stuff down and started playing without much thought, without much arranging, without much rehearsal and with lots of extra voices,” Helm said of the recording process in an official statement. “That’s what we wanted the record to sound like and feel like. I had a picture of Mavis near my recording station and a picture of my little boys. That was about it.”

This Too Shall Light is due on September 21, and it is currently available for pre-order
