The Trey Anastasio Trio – along with returning keyboardist Ray Paczkowski – performed at New York City’s Central Park Summerstage on Friday July 6, serving up two full sets under overcast skies.

The band set the mood early on with a lighthearted “Blaze On,” followed by “Cayman Review,” “Everything’s Right” and “Heavy Things.” After a departure into the more pensive “Miss You,” Trey and company closed the first half with “Sand.”

The band started the second set with Phish’s “No Men In No Man’s Land,” and continued their segue into the Phish songbook with “Ghost” and “Camel Walk.”

Eventually, Phish’s newest original, “Soul Planet,” made an appearance, and they ended set two with “Push On ‘Til the Day.”

Trey Anastasio broke out the acoustic guitar for the first half of his five-song encore, performing intimate versions of “Waste,” “Strange Design” and “More.” The rest of the band joined him for two final full-band takes on “Alaska” and “First Tube.”
