Gov’t Mule wrapped up a short leg of their co-tour dates with The Avett Brothers and The Magpie Salute on Saturday night in Mansfield, MA, after playing in Holmdel, NJ, on Friday. Both nights continued the headlining band’s “Dark Side of the Mule” Pink Floyd concept, along with continued collaborations featuring members of the Avetts, Magpie and more.

After kicking off the run on Thursday with a guest-filled outing at Jones Beach, Mule again kicked off both Friday and Saturday’s shows with a couple of original tunes before delving into the Pink Floyd catalog, including classics like the Dark Side of the Moon run of “Speak to Me,” “Breathe” and “On the Run.” On both nights, those songs led into a collaboration with Seth and Scott Avett on “Time” and “Breathe Reprise.”

Along with multiple tunes featuring longtime Mule collaborator and saxophonist Ron Hollway, including on “Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V), both nights also featured Mule welcoming Magpie Salute members Marc Ford and John Hogg for “The Nile Song.”

See the weekend’s setlist below, along with some fan-shot video from the shows. Next up for Gov’t Mule is a trip to Scranton, PA, for this weekend’s Peach Music Festival.
