Phish’s second night at The Gorge came with no shortage of surprises, with the band debuting “Infinite,” a Mike-Gordon led tune in the middle of the first set.

Surely, the band knew they were echoing the audience’s general vibe with the opening “Party Time,” and they continued the good spirits with a nice “Punch You in the Eye”> “Mike’s Song”> “I Am Hydrogen”> “Weekapaug Groove” segment.

Then came “Infinite,” which acted as the only other 3.0 tune in the set (besides “Party Time”) and became the impetus to a beautiful “It’s Ice”> “Divided Sky” jam. As the band entered the composed section of “Divided Sky,” a sunset burned behind them. With yellows and oranges cascading over the landscape of The Gorge, the crowd soaked in both the eye and ear candy in front of them.

Following a set-closing “Cavern,” Phish kicked things into high gear with a “Tweezer” to open the second half. The jamming didn’t stop throughout set two, with a segue into “Golden Age” which bled into “Farmhouse,” “Piper,” “Prince Caspian,” “Wading in the Velvet Sea” and the T.A.B. original “Rise/Come Together.” The band finally made their way to the fan-favorite “Run Like An Antelope,” and after a quick breather backstage they encored with “Bug”> “Tweezer Reprise.”

Phish will return to The Gorge for their third and final performance on Sunday July 22.
