On Friday night, Billy Joel played Boston’s Fenway Park, offering a performance full of his classic tunes plus a couple of surprise guest vocalists, starting with Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band and continuing with Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott.

As Ultimate Classic Rock notes, before the sit ins, Joel nodded to his surroundings earlier in the night with a snippet of “More Than a Feeling” by the city’s namesake group, Boston. Later in the evening, Joel welcomed out Wolf for the J. Geils Band classic “Centerfold.” Just a couple songs later, Elliott emerged to offer his frontman showmanship on Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” Elliott would later return during Joel’s encore to help the Piano Man cap off the night with “You May Be Right.”
